About Kerry Bystrom

Assistant professor of English and associate director of the Foundations of Humanitarianism program of the Human Rights Institute at the University of Connecticut. She is also research associate of the School of Literature and Language Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. She has published a variety of articles and chapters on topics ranging from South African cultural studies to theories of literature and human rights; among her current research projects is a manuscript-in-progress titled Millennial Humanitarianism: Public Intellectuals, Celebrity Culture, and Global Obligation.
