About Jean Cohen

Nell and Herbert M. Singer Professor of Contemporary Civilization in the Core Curriculum and professor of political science at Columbia University. She specializes in contemporary political and legal theory, continental political thought, and international political theory. She is the author of numerous books and articles, including (with Andrew Arato) Civil Society and Political Theory (Cambridge, Mass., 1992); Regulating Intimacy: A New Legal Paradigm (Princeton, 2002); and Rethinking Legitimacy and Legality in the Epoch of Globalization (Cambridge, forthcoming).
