About Brigitte Sion

Assistant professor/faculty fellow in the religious studies program and the department of journalism at New York University. She earned her Ph.D. in performance studies from the same institution in 2008; her dissertation compared and contrasted the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin with the Monument to the Disappeared in Buenos Aires. She is expanding her research to Cambodia, Normandy, and the Netherlands. She is the author of four published books on cultural history and is currently editing a volume on death tourism, forthcoming from Seagull Press.
