Humanity Unbound

Humanity Unbound is a forum of the Journal Humanity. It provides an opportunity for shorter interventions that are published on a faster time frame. These submissions may undergo a streamlined review process. The guidelines are as follows:

  1. Please submit your article via   Submit to Humanity: An International Journal of Human Rights, Humanitarianism, and Development
  2. Mark the submission as intended specifically for Humanity Unbound.
  3. Essays should be approximately 3,000 words, including references and endnotes. Footnotes should be used judiciously for Humanity Unbound submissions – please refer to the full manuscript submission page for guidelines regarding citations and formatting.
  4. On a separate title page, please include an abstract (300 words max), up to 5 key words, and contact details.
  5. When finalizing your submission, please bear in mind that we will evaluate the essay in terms of the criteria used for our manuscripts, with particular attention to 1) novelty, timeliness, and significance of argument and 2) whether it speaks to Humanity’s interdisciplinary audience.
  6. Authors are asked to confirm that the essay has not previously appeared in print, online or is not currently being reviewed elsewhere for another publication.
