About MAŁGORZATA MAZUREK

Postdoctoral research scholar at Columbia University and associate fellow at the Zentrum für Zeithistorische Forschung in Potsdam, Germany, where she worked until July 2012. She is the author of Socialist Factory: Workers in Communist Poland and the GDR on the Eve of the 1960s (Trio, 2005), as well as several articles on the comparative and social history of communist Poland in Polish, German, French, and English. Her second book, Society in Waiting Lines: On Experiences of Shortages in Postwar Poland (Trio, 2010), has been short-listed among the ten best books in contemporary Polish history in a 2011 nationwide contest. Her new book project deals with the intellectual history of east-central European involvement in the making of the Third World between the early 1940s and 1960s.
